Order-flow field

The order-flow field renders market microstructure as a field of pressure - arrows or streamlines that show the direction and strength of aggressive flow, with liquidity walls picked out where size concentrates. It’s a way to feel whether the tape is leaning up or down without reading individual prints.

A chart with the order-flow field - pressure streamlines and highlighted liquidity walls over price

suggested 1280x720

Aggressor pressure is drawn as a vector field: where it points and how dense it is tells you which way the market is being pushed. Liquidity walls - the concentrations that pressure breaks against - are highlighted so you can see what’s resisting the push.

  1. Open Chart Options and switch on the Order-flow Field, then pick a rendering style.

  2. Read the flow into the walls: pressure building against a wall that then gives way is a continuation cue; pressure that stalls and reverses at a wall is absorption.
